The MiTo was the first car produced after the 8C Competizione - Alfa Romeo's icon of style and technology - from which it borrows some distinctive features: the specific shape of the side windows delineated by flush glazing, a three-part "trilobo" motif that distinguishes the front bumpers, the shape of the headlights and the LED tail-lights.
A distinctive personal touch has been added around the headlights and tail-lights: a frame featuring different forms of material processing and colours to create an ultra-stylish eye-liner effect that underscores the car’s style and determination.
The highly distinctive dashboard and seats ensure that the interior represents the ultimate expression of Italian style, welcoming yet sporty, with high material quality and scrupulous attention to detail, top of the range dashboard and finishing, and wraparound seats. Inside the MiTo you feel ready to experience all the joys of driving.
The Alfa MiTo offers Uconnect™ infotainment system that provides in-car communication, information and entertainment from the tips of your fingers. Uconnect™ is Alfa’s built-in system that combines a top-quality sound system with a variety of multimedia services and functions. You can operate it with the touch of a finger or simply your voice, thanks to a 5" colour touchscreen and voice recognition. Uconnect includes FM/AM radio, CD player and media player devices that can be connected via Bluetooth, USB port or AUX-in socket.
The Bluetooth® interface lets you read any text messages received (through the text to speech system*) and use the steering wheel controls to handle telephone calls.
*Only available with compatible handsets.
The MiTo ushers in a new era for petrol engines being the first car in the world to be powered by engines with the revolutionary MultiAir technology. This lauded technology is now featured on the newest MiTo engine, the multi-awarded 0.9 TwinAir, which amongst other awards, took out the coveted "International Engine of the Year 2011" award. Not to be outshone by its smaller sibling, the 1.4 Turbo MultiAir was in fact awarded the prestigious "International Best New Engine of the Year" award at the 2010 edition of the International Engine of the Year competition. The MultiAir engines are all equipped with Start&Stop technology and a Gear Shift Indicator as standard providing better performance, lower fuel consumption, lower CO2 emissions and dynamic fuel management.
A new addition to the MiTo line-up is the 0.9 TwinAir engine. This engine is an in-line 2-cylinder engine, with a surprising 875cc (0.9L) displacement. Performance is not becoming of its size, using MultiAir and turbocharging technologies, this small engine with a big heart produces 77 kW of power and 145 Nm of torque, making it more than capable to propel the MiTo.
Alfa D.N.A. is the exclusive Alfa Romeo driving selector which, by acting on engine, brakes, steering, gearbox, suspension and accelerator, adapts the vehicle's performance to suit all conditions.
It offers simple, intuitive use: just shift the selector near the gear lever.
There are three benefits to the Alfa Active Suspension: comfort, safety and agility. The electronic shock absorbers adapt to the road conditions and control all the car's movements. The Dynamic Suspension system always ensures maximum grip and safety by actively responding to all road conditions. Lastly, pitch and roll are restricted, meaning there is better stability and a quick approach to corners.
Alfa Twin Clutch Transmission is the innovative twin dry clutch automatic transmission, consisting of two gearboxes in parallel that allow the next gear to engage while the previous one is still engaged. The Alfa TCT guarantees driving comfort and a sporty feel that far surpass those offered by traditional automatic transmissions, coupled with improved efficiency and lower fuel consumption.
When driving around town, the Alfa MiTo benefits from the Start&Stop device, which is combined with all the MultiAir petrol engines. This device is permanently active, but can be turned off by the driver. It automatically stops and starts the car when at a standstill in town traffic to reduce fuel consumption, harmful emissions and sound pollution.
The Alfa Romeo MiTo has been awarded a prestigious five-star Euro NCAP rating.
