10 Reasons Why Having An Alfa 4C For Sale Is Exciting News

From the time that the Alfa Romeo 4C was first presented at the Geneva auto show in 2011, car lovers worldwide have been salivating at the prospect of sitting behind the wheel and testing its capabilities. Now, just three years later, the production version of the Alfa 4C is for sale, even in Australia, an area where "new" models are often old on the world market before they arrive here.

10 Reasons Why Having An Alfa 4C For Sale Is Exciting News

There are at least 10 reasons why having the Alfa 4C for sale is exciting to sports car lovers.

  • It's an Alfa Romeo. Though the car is new, the company has a long and vibrant history of building innovative sports cars and even race cars. Most recently, the company offered a limited run of the 8C Competizione, which offered great technology at a high price.
  • It's a bargain in the sports car world. Viewed as a "baby Ferrari," and compared to such lofty vehicles as the Chevrolet Corvette, the Lotus Evora, and the Audi TTS, the 4C is expected to have a skinny price tag in comparison with those cars.
  • Its new technology. Like the 8C, the 4C incorporates innovations in materials and design, which makes the car not just another variation of other Fiat products, but something new.
  • It’s lightweight. Designed as a sports car, the 4C is built for speed, and competent handling at those high speeds. Weighing in at less than 900 kg, the car still offers air-conditioning and safety features.
  • It's savvy in its use of materials. The 4C blends form and function by using materials that achieve its goal of being fast and light - weight-saving carbon fibre for the chassis, aluminium for the engine block, and composite sheet moulding compound (SMC) for the monocoque, or structural skin.
  • It's powerful. Equipped with a 1.7 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the car has 170 5kW and 350 Nm of torque is capable of doing 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
  • Its brakes will surprise you. Physically smaller than the brakes on many heavier high-performance cars, Alfa can stop in 0.3 m from 100 km/hr, and responds just as well at higher speeds, with no sign of fade.
  • The steering is quick and responsive. The 4C masters corners effortlessly.
  • It's well-made. With the 4C, Alfa is committed to "the annihilation of defects," which is why in the manufacturing process the body undergoes 400 measurement tests, and passes 351 different tests before it leaves the factory.
  • It's a new day for Alfa Romeo. The Alfa 4C for sale is the first in a line of new sporting cars for the brand. A convertible will probably be next, with more models reportedly in store.
